The Ministry of Science sector for International Cooperation, set up the Consultative Bureau for International Projects (CBIP) in March 2008 as an extension of its work with the aim to strengthen the presence of and success rate for Serbian scientists in international projects, particularly FP7. The CBIP supports the work of the FP National Contact Points in providing information of FP7 calls, but more importantly it can help scientists convert their ideas into successful research proposals by advising on how to put together a consortium for an international collaborative project and giving practical help with writing an FP7 proposal. Current activities include meeting the scientists to find out about their research and opportunities for international projects, to encourage scientists to prepare FP7 projects, to set up a web-based database of details of Serbian scientists to facilitate finding project partners and to provide training courses in successful proposal writing.
